Youcat commented through CCC – Question n. 330.

YOUCAT Question n. 330 - To what extent are all men equal in God’s sight?

(Youcat answer)  All men are equal in Gods sight insofar as all have the same Creator, all were created in the same image of God with a rational soul, and all have the same Redeemer.

A deepening through CCC

(CCC 1935 The equality of men rests essentially on their dignity as persons and the rights that flow from it: Every form of social or cultural discrimination in fundamental personal rights on the grounds of sex, race, color, social conditions, language, or religion must be curbed and eradicated as incompatible with God's design (GS 29 § 2). (CCC 1945) The equality of men concerns their dignity as persons and the rights that flow from it.

Reflecting and meditating

(Youcat comment) Because all men are equal in God’s sight, every person possesses the same dignity and has a claim to the same human rights. Hence every kind of social, racist, sexist, cultural, or religious discrimination against a person is an unacceptable injustice.

(CCC Comment)

(CCC 1934) Created in the image of the one God and equally endowed with rational souls, all men have the same nature and the same origin. Redeemed by the sacrifice of Christ, all are called to participate in the same divine beatitude: all therefore enjoy an equal dignity.

(The next question is: Why is there nevertheless injustice among men?)
