Youcat commented through CCC – Question n. 311.
(Youcat answer) The Fruits of the Holy Spirit are charity,
joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, generosity, gentleness, faithfulness,
modesty, self-control, and chastity (cf. Gal 5:22-23).
A
deepening through CCC
(CCC 1832) The fruits of the Spirit are perfections
that the Holy Spirit forms in us as the first fruits of eternal glory. The
tradition of the Church lists twelve of them: "charity, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness, generosity, gentleness, faithfulness, modesty,
self-control, chastity" (Gal 5:22-23 Vulg.).
Reflecting
and meditating
(Youcat comment) In the
“Fruits of the Holy Spirit” the world can see what becomes of people who let
themselves be adopted, led, and completely formed by God. The fruits of the
Holy Spirit show that God really plays a role in the life of Christians.
(CCC
Comment)
(CCC 736) By this power of the Spirit,
God's children can bear much fruit. He who has grafted us onto the true vine
will make us bear "the fruit of the Spirit:… love, joy, peace, patience,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control" (Gal 5:22-23).
"We live by the Spirit"; the more we renounce ourselves, the more we
"walk by the Spirit" (Gal 5:25; cf. Mt 16:24-26). Through the Holy
Spirit we are restored to paradise, led back to the Kingdom of heaven, and
adopted as children, given confidence to call God "Father" and to
share in Christ's grace, called children of light and given a share in eternal
glory (St. Basil, De Spiritu Sancto,
15, 36: PG 32, 132).
