Mk 11, 12-14 He found nothing but leaves

(Mk 11, 12-14) He found nothing but leaves
[12] The next day as they were leaving Bethany he was hungry. [13] Seeing from a distance a fig tree in leaf, he went over to see if he could find anything on it. When he reached it he found nothing but leaves; it was not the time for figs. [14] And he said to it in reply, "May no one ever eat of your fruit again!" And his disciples heard it.
(CCC 1724) The Decalogue, the Sermon on the Mount, and the apostolic catechesis describe for us the paths that lead to the Kingdom of heaven. Sustained by the grace of the Holy Spirit, we tread them, step by step, by everyday acts. By the working of the Word of Christ, we slowly bear fruit in the Church to the glory of God (Cf. the parable of the sower: Mt 13:3-23).
